Westcountry Stonemasons - Projects

Projects

A small selection of some of the works we have been involved in over the last 20 plus years. We hope that they help to outline the type of work that we are very proud to have undertaken.

The Royal Albert Memorial Museum, Exeter

  • Client: Exeter City Council
  • Architect: Exeter City Conservation Architects.

This large project was under taken to repair and restore the main elevations of the museum. It included stone cleaning, conservation, repairs, replacement and repointing. The works were carried out in a city centre location and the museum remained open during the works. A variety of stones including Bath and Ham Hill Limestone, together with Devon red sandstones and local volcanic stone from the Exeter area all needed various conservation works and in some areas replacement where severe erosion had occurred.

Lead work and roofing repairs were also carried out. Phase 2 of the works to this church commenced in 2010.
